When I was 12 years old, I bought my first camera at a garage sale for just $1.  It was an old beat up camera, but it opened up a world of wonder, fun and magic—and I was hooked. Around that same time, my mom’s interest in photography grew, and she put up a darkroom in our bathroom. I loved spending the afternoons there with her, watching as my friends’ faces appeared in the developer. I took summer classes in junior high and every class available in high school. I loved the darkroom so much that I often spent my lunch hour printing pictures. My time at the University of Texas was much the same: I spent my weekends taking portraits of anyone who would let me and my weeknights in the darkroom. I always had my camera, and I now have thousands of images to look back on and remember all the fun times and amazing people I’ve known.

Shortly after college I started up my own business so that I could do what I love every day. My goal is to capture natural images of people that truly reflect their individuality, identity and lifestyle. If your heart melts a little when you look at your child’s or spouse’s perfect little smirk or familiar expression, then I have succeeded. I hope to help you celebrate your life through photographs!

I have been a professional photographer in Austin for more than seventeen years. I am currently a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  I have a bachelor's degree in photojournalism from the University of Texas, and I regularly continue my education through local photography seminars and classes with the Texas School for Professional Photographers.
